Why Online Shops Should Apply to Be a Pinterest Verified Merchant

Welcome to Part 2 of my blog mini-series about Pinterest’s Verified Merchant Program. In this blog, we are going to review WHY e-Commerce brands should apply to be part of the Verified Merchant Program On Pinterest.

(You can find links to the rest of the mini-series blogs at the bottom of this post)

So, WHY should E-Commerce Brands Become Verified Merchants on Pinterest?

Let’s talk about the benefits of the program…

Verified Merchants receive several benefits on Pinterest. In addition to giving shoppers the reassurance that they are purchasing from a trusted brand, brands also receive these additional benefits.

  • Shops receive the Verified Merchant Badge on their profile. This little blue check will tell potential customers and viewers that you are a trusted and vetted shop. This will help your shop stand out in the crowd! A blue check badge will appear on your profile.

  • Merchants’ products are eligible to be part of the visual search and related pin searches. This helps new customers find you as they are searching for products and solutions. I often say Pinterest shoppers are searching for a type of item, not necessarily a name-brand item. So, if your product falls into a category or look someone is seeking, you can be seen through visual search and related pins.

  • Shop products will be eligible for distribution to a greater audience when you are a Verified Merchant.

  • The Product Catalog is pulled each day and will include up-to-date information for shoppers. This enhances the user experience as they are seeing current inventory and pricing when they find a product they love.

  • Pinterest’s Conversion Analytics give shop owners a clear view of how their products are doing on Pinterest. Analytics include conversion statistics, audience insights, and information about how products and pins are performing on Pinterest.

  • If you are a smaller shop, the addition of the Verified Merchant Badge can give your brand an extra boost. The fact that you have been vetted and approved by Pinterest gives shoppers the confidence to buy from you.

Take Advantage of the Benefits of the Verified Merchant Program

Pinterest shoppers are ready to buy! They come to Pinterest knowing what they are looking for. Since Pinterest is a search engine, if your products are on Pinterest, when someone searches for what you offer, you can show up in their results. Having that Merchant Badge shows those shoppers they can trust you.
